Jesus is Peace

Even all the hairs of your head are counted. – Matthew 10:30

In this Sunday’s gospel reading, Jesus tells us to not be afraid. He tells us that we are worth more than sparrows. (Mt 10:31)

These words come at the right time. (Of course, all of Jesus’ words come at the right time). But unless I am stretching it a bit here, it feels like Jesus is trying to reassure all of us in these days of the coronavirus and physical distancing and social upheaval.

Jesus tells us that all the hairs of our heads are counted. In other words, He is right here with us and we are not alone. He is aware of what we are suffering and He wants us to know He loves us. And He tells us to trust Him.

Can we do that? Can we trust Him? Can we find some peace?

Jesus is peace. Sunday is a day of rest. Rest in Him.

Jesus, we know you are with us. Remind us of your love and help us to know your peace. Amen.

  1. It’s nice to be reassured how important we are to The Lord.
