Hear God’s Voice

At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a deserted place. The crowds went looking for him, and when they came to him, they tried to prevent him from leaving them. – Luke 4:42

Jesus often went to a deserted place in order to pray. He needed to listen for God’s voice. And then he went to proclaim the Good News.

In order to process things in my life, in order to hear God’s voice in my heart, I often need to be by myself. Like Jesus, I need to go off to a deserted place. And listen.

Sometimes it is a retreat, or a visit to the Blessed Sacrament. Or praying quietly in my home.

It helps me to feel closer to Jesus and desire to go out to proclaim the Good News.

Jesus, help me to hear your voice in the silence of my heart. Help me to proclaim the Good News. Amen.
