Acts 11:1-18; John 10:1-10
“I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.” – John 10:9
Jesus tells us that he is the gate for the sheep. How has my life been affected by the presence of Jesus? How is he our gate?
Lord, thank you for coming into my life. I experience you every day in so many ways. Help me to better understand how you are working in my life and to cooperate more with your promptings.
Tuesday, April 19
Acts 11:19-26; John 10:22-30
“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” – John 10:27
What do I need to do to grow closer to Jesus? How do I hear His voice?
Lord, I know that I belong only to you, but there is so much around me that draws me in other directions. Grant me the knowledge of what I must change to grow closer to you. Grant me the courage to make such changes.
Wednesday, April 20
Acts 12:24-13:5a; John 12:44-50
“I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness”. – John 12:46
Jesus is the light of my life. What areas of my life need Jesus’ light? Where in my life do I see His light?
Lord, I know there are many dark corners in my life where I need your light. Help me to understand what I must do to let your light shine greater in my life. Help me also to be aware of your light in my life.
Thursday, April 21
Acts 13:13-25; John 13:16-20
“Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.” – John 13:20
Do I recognize Jesus in those he sends me? Can I name some of these messengers?
Lord, you are constantly sending messengers into my life to help me better understand you. Help me to see these messengers more clearly and to have a more welcoming attitude toward them. By accepting those you send into my life, I am accepting you into my life.
Friday, April 22
Acts 13:26-33; John 14:1-6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6
What do I need to do to better follow the way of Jesus? Do I recognize Jesus’ presence in my life?
Lord, I want so much to follow your way. Help me to know which road leads to your way. Help me to recognize your presence in my life.
