St. Mark, Evangelist
1 Peter 5:5b-14; Mark 16:15-20
Jesus appeared to the Eleven and said to them: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” – Mark 16:15
After Jesus returned to the Father, the disciples went out and preached to their whole world. Have I been doing my best to preach the good news?
Lord, I try, but at times I fail. Help me to be stronger in my efforts to spread your good news. Grant me the courage to never back down regardless of the possible consequences.

Jesus said to his disciples: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” – John 14:27
Jesus frequently said that we should possess his peace. How do I experience the peace of Jesus in my life?
Lord, I live in your peace, I feel your peace present at all times. I thank you for the peace I have in my life. Help me Lord by further granting more peace so that all turmoil of this life may be removed in your name.

Acts 15:1-6; John 15:1-8
“I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5
Jesus told us that if we remained in him we would bear fruit. What fruit have I borne in my life?
Lord, I try very hard to remain in you. Sometimes I fail. Help me to remain in you always. Grant me the vision to see and understand the fruits that I bear because of my loyalty to you. Grant me the knowledge to put all fruits to use to the glory of you.

“I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete.” – John 15:11
How does Jesus bring joy into my life? How do I bring His joy to others?
Lord, you bring great joy into my life. Help me to see all the joy that you bring and to appreciate it as a great gift of yours. Never let me take the joy in my life for granted. Help me to spread your joy in this world. Help me to always reflect your great joy.

St. Catherine of Siena
Acts 15:22-31; John 15:12-17
“This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.” – John 15:12
We are commanded to love one another. Do I love all those who cross my path in this world?
Lord, this is a commandment that I have much trouble following. There are some people who are not very lovable. Grant me the patience to see past others’ faults and hurts and to love them regardless of their faults. Help me to see you in all peoples.
