Grief

I miss my mom. I cry every day. It gets a little easier, but I don’t know if I want it to be easier.

I am able to listen to some of her voicemails on my phone over the past year. There is one when she is singing Happy Birthday to me. She is laughing. And tells me she loves me. I find it comforting.

Thankfully, I don’t think I ever took my mother for granted. But still, missing her and crying over her makes me want to hug my husband and children and grandchildren and everyone else I love.

Over and over.

Can we love too much? Can we show our love too much to our family members and friends?

Go hug your loved ones.

Now.
