Isaiah 65:17-21; John 4:43-54

Jesus said to him, “You may go; your son will live.” The man believed what Jesus said to him and left. John 4:50

When have I experienced Jesus’ healing power even though I was far from him?

Lord, you are constantly working wonders in my life. There are times I have fallen far from you and yet you still were present working wonders for me. Thank you, Lord, for your constant loving presence in my life.

Ezekiel 47:1-9, 12; John 5:1-16

“When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been ill for a long time, he said to him, ‘Do you want to be well?’” John 5:6

Where do I most need the healing touch of Jesus? Do I want to be healed? Why or why not?

Lord, I do want to be well. Please help me to understand where I most need your healing touch. Grant me the strength to accept your healing touch at all times. You know, better than me, where I most need your touch.

Isaiah 49:8-15; John 5:17-30

“I cannot do anything on my own; I judge as I hear, and my judgment is just, because I do not seek my own will but the will of the one who sent me.” – John 5:30

Do I do the will of God? Do I hear Jesus’ word?

Lord, you have showed us by your life how we can imitate your father in heaven. Help me to understand what I must do to better imitate him in all things and all dealings with my neighbor.

Exodus 32:7-14; John 5:31-47

“How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God?” – John 5:44

Do I seek the approval of other people more than God’s approval?

Lord, so frequently I do not act as I should. Frequently my actions are not those of a follower of yours. Help me to become a better follower and, by my actions, to show others who I really am.

Fri., March 11, 2016

Wisdom 2:1a, 12-22; John 7:1-2, 10, 25-30

“And look, he is speaking openly and they say nothing to him. Could the authorities have realized that he is the Messiah?” – John 7:26

What keeps me from speaking openly about my belief in Jesus?

Lord, I can be such a coward. There are so many times that I keep silent for fear of the reaction of others. Help me to speak up when the opportunity presents itself and to never keep silent because of fear of retribution.
