Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
Jesus is the light of the world. What parts of my world do I most need Jesus to shine his light on today?
Lord, so much of my world is in darkness. Shine your light on all the darkness to enlighten me of your loving presence. Never again allow me to dwell in darkness. It is only by your light that I may truly understand my world.

Numbers 21:4-9; John 8:21-30
What spiritual healing do I need from Jesus today? Have I asked him for healing?
Lord, there are many areas that I am in need of healing of my spirit. Help me to better discern those areas that are most in need. Grant me the courage the step forward and accept the healing that you offer.

Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32
What does it mean to remain in Jesus’ word? Where in my life do I need to be free?
Lord, I am enslaved by so many of my bad habits. Help me to see which of these habits is most dangerous to me and set me free from that habit. It is only through you that I can conquer these bad habits. Grant me freedom.

Genesis 17:3-9; John 8:51-59
The Jews had trouble believing what Jesus told them. What words of Jesus do I have the most trouble understanding or believing?
Lord, there are some things that you said that really trouble me. Help me to better understand what you said and to incorporate it into my life. Grant me the courage to accept all of your teachings without question.

“If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me; but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may realize [and understand] that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” – John 10:37-38
How or in what way is Jesus working in my life?
Lord, there are so many places you work in my life, it is difficult to pick one place. Continue to work within me as I continue to grow in faith in you.
