Acts 19:1-8; John 16:29-33

“I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world“. – John 16:33

Jesus told us that we should take courage because he has conquered the world. Has Jesus conquered my world?

Lord, I know you have conquered the entire world, but there are parts that still act as if they have never heard of you and your teachings. Help me to bring your presence to those parts of my world so that they also will know that you have conquered the entire world.

Acts 20:17-27; John 17:1-11a

“Now this is eternal life,
that they should know you, the only true God,
and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” – John 17:3

Does my knowledge of Jesus grow constantly or has it stagnated?

Lord, I will never stop learning about you and your teachings. Just when I think I know enough, something new comes to mind. Help me to continually study your word so as to better understand your teachings.

Acts 20:28-38; John 17:11b-19

“But now I am coming to you. I speak this in the world so that they may share my joy completely.” – John 17:13

Jesus wants us to share his joy. How have I experienced the joy of Jesus in my life recently?

Lord, I feel your joy all the time, some times stronger than others. Help me to always experience the greatest part of your Joy. Grant me the insight to always know when your joy is most felt in my life.

Acts 22:30, 23:6-11; John 17:20-26

“Father, they are your gift to me.” – John 17:24

How has the love of Jesus transformed my life? What else in my life needs to be transformed?

Lord, my life changes every day due to your love of me. Help me to become more aware of these changes and to grow in appreciation of them. Never take your love from me and never let me take your love for granted.

Acts 25:13b-21; John 21:15-19

“When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” – John 21:15

How frequently do I profess my love for Jesus? In what ways do I say or show my love?

Lord, I do love you very much, but I know I do not tell you frequently enough just how much I love you. Grant me the courage to constantly proclaim my love for you and the strength to do whatever is necessary to show that love.
