Hosea 2:16, 17c-18, 21-22; Matthew 9:18-26

Jesus turned around and saw her, and said, “Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you.” And from that hour the woman was cured. – Mt 9:22

Many times Jesus favored people because they had faith. What do I need Jesus to help me with? Is my faith strong enough?

Lord, there are so many places that I need your healing hand. I believe that I have a strong enough faith. Help me to strengthen my faith so that you will look upon me and say that my faith has saved me.

Hosea 8:4-7, 11-13; Matthew 9:32-38

Then (Jesus) said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few…” – Mt 9:37

Jesus reminds us that the harvest is great, but the laborers are few. What labor has been asked of me as I am sent into the harvest?

Lord, you have a job for me to do. I do not always understand that job. Help me to understand just what you need me to do in your kingdom. Never allow me to turn my back on the tasks you set for me.

Hosea 10:1-3, 7-8, 12; Matthew 10:1-7

As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ – Mt 10:7

What have I done to help proclaim the Kingdom of God?

Lord, you send me out to the world to proclaim your kingdom. Grant me the knowledge to understand how I may best do this and the strength to always proclaim your kingdom regardless of the consequences. Help me to never let you down.

Thurs., July 7, 2016

Hosea 11:1-4, 8e-9; Matthew 10:7-15

Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give. – Mt 10:8

What material goods get in my way when I try to preach the good news?

Lord, I so wish to proclaim your kingdom, but there are so many worldly things that get in my way. Help me to see what holds me back and grant me the strength to let go of what I must.

Fri., July 8, 2016

Hosea 14:2-10; Matthew 10:16-23

You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end – will be saved. – Mt 10:22

Am I aware of those times that God has helped me through a rough spot in my life?

Lord, I know you are always helping me in rough times. There are times I forget that you are there. Help me to never ignore your presence in my life. Remind me to call on you not just in times of stress but all the time.
