Ephesians 2:1-10; Luke 12:13-21
Then he said to the crowd, “Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one’s life does not consist of possessions. – Lk 12:15
How does my greed get in the way of my relationship with Jesus? What else is Jesus saying to us?
Lord, there is so much I want in this world. Everyday something new appeals to me. Help me to surrender my greed for more possessions and replace it with a greater desire for you. You are all I ever need.

We are all called to announce God’s kingdom. How can I help others to experience God’s peace?
Lord, I understand my obligation to spread your word and peace among others. Help me to be more courageous in doing so. Take all self-interest away from me and make me your mouthpiece.

Am I always attentive to the possible presence of the Lord in my life?
Lord, I know you are always present in my life. However there are times when I do not pay any attention. Help me to become more aware of your presence and to thank you.

Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. – Lk 12:51
Jesus warns us that faith in him will cause division among households. When have I witnessed division and conflict due to my faith in Jesus?
Lord, humans are greatly divided regarding faith in you. Help me to heal these divisions whenever possible and the do what is necessary to keep my own faith strong regardless of any divisions.

What changes do I need to make to live a Christian life?
Lord, you have blessed me with a call to be Christian. Sometimes I do not live in a manner reflecting that call. Help me to see what I need to change in my life and grant me the courage to make the necessary changes.
