March 6 – March 10, 2017

Mon., March 6, 2017

Leviticus 19:1-2, 11-18; Matthew 25:31-46

And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’ – Mt 25:40

What can I do for others this Lent?

Lord, help me to see you in others. Help me to see the needs of others, and to respond accordingly. I know that when I help others, I am helping you.

Tues., March 7, 2017

Isaiah 55:10-11; Matthew 6:7-15

In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words – Mt 6:7

How do I pray? Which part of the Lord’s Prayer speaks to me today?

Lord, I memorized your beautiful prayer as a child. There are times that I am guilty of reciting it without much thought. Help me to see the rich meaning of this prayer and to understand what you are telling me in this prayer.

Wed., March 8, 2017

Jonah 3:1-10; Luke 11:29-32

Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. – Lk 11:30

How words can I use to help others recognize God in their lives? Where do I recognize God in my life today?

Lord, grant me the knowledge to use the words most suited to bring others to you. Grant me the courage to say whatever needs to be said. I know that only with your help will my words be able to touch others.

Thurs., March 9, 2017

Esther C: 12, 14-16, 23-25; Matthew 7:7-12

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. – Mt 7:7

What do I need to ask God for today? How do I seek and find God?

Lord, there is so much I need and want. Grant me the courage to ask for what I most need and the patience to wait for your answer. Help me to find you in my everyday life.

Fri., March 10, 2017

Ezekiel 18:21-28; Matthew 5:20-26

Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there recall that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there at the altar, go first and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift. – Mt 5:23-24

Who do I need to reconcile with? Am I able to do that? Do I ask God for help?

Lord, help me to see where I need reconciliation. Grant me the grace to be reconciled with all who I have a disagreement with.
