Ezra 1:1-6; Luke 8:16-18
“For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light.” Lk 8:17
Do I let the light of my faith in Jesus shine before those around me?
Lord, I thank you for my faith in you, your greatest gift to me. Help me to allow others to see that faith in my life so that I may be an example to them of your love. Never let me hide the light of my faith from others.

He said to them in reply, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it. – Lk 8:21
Jesus reminds us that to be a part of his family we need to hear and act on his word. Do I hear and act on the word of God?
Lord, I hear your word all the time, but there are times that I do not act accordingly. Help me to not only hear and understand your word but to also act on it, so that your word is living through me.

“and he sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal [the sick].” – Lk 9:2
Jesus blessed us with gifts to help others. How have I used my gifts?
Lord, you have blessed me with so many gifts. Help me to use these gifts for the good of all around me. Help me to seek out the needs of others and to fulfill those needs as much as I can.

What teachings of Jesus do I have a hard time understanding?
Lord, I believe in you and all that you have revealed to me. But there are issues that I still have a hard time understanding and believing. Help me to better understand these issues and in doing so the fully believe in them. Help me in my unbelief.

How can I, like an angel, be a messenger and open God’s world to others?
Lord, you have sent me out to do your will among the people of my time. Help me to understand your will and how I may best portray it to others. Grant me the courage to step forward to announce your word to the world.
