Listen to Him

August 6, 2019

Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.” After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They fell silent and did not at that time tell anyone what they had seen. – Lk 9:35-36

Peter, James and John went up the mountain with Jesus to pray. They saw him talking to Moses and Elijah. A cloud came over them and then Jesus was alone. “Listen to him,” said the voice.

The disciples were speechless.

If the disciples had wondered just who Jesus was, did they now understand? Did they come to know that he is the One?

Do we know Jesus is the One?

Do we listen to him?

Dear Jesus,  we know you are the One. The One who is to come. Our Lord and Savior. Please help us to be aware of your presence in our everyday lives. Amen.

  1. I’ve been reading “No Greater Love” and that same question popped up…do I listen enough…and it is something I definitely have to work on…clear my head and listen

  2. It does take work to listen sometimes. It is so easy to get distracted. Thanks for visiting!
