First Reconciliation

Jesus heard this and said to them [that], “Those who are well do not need a physician,* but the sick do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.” – Mark 2:17

If Jesus loves us as we are, even when we are weak and sinful, then why can we not love ourselves? Why do we not trust in God’s love? Why do we doubt?

One of the greatest gifts I received when I converted to the Catholic faith was the Sacrament of Reconciliation. I went to confession for the very first time on Holy Saturday, the day of the Easter Vigil, the day when I became Catholic.

I have not doubted God’s love for me since then.
