Good News

He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. – Mark 16:15

Today is the feast of Paul’s Conversion. He went from persecuting Christians to becoming one of Jesus’ greatest followers.

The meaning of the word gospel is “good news.” I would call Paul’s conversion good news. I would call everyone’s conversion good news.

Conversion means to change from one belief to another. I have always been a Christian, but becoming Catholic was a conversion experience for me. I was changed.

And it was Good News. Good news for me. For my husband. And for my father-in-law who always wanted me to convert. He did not live to see it happen, but I know he was with me. In fact, I am pretty sure he kept bugging Jesus until I converted.

Thank you, Lord.

And thank you, dad.
