We Are Not Alone

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. – John 14:18

“I will not leave you orphans.”

Jesus tells us that we are not alone. Not ever. Even though it sometimes feels like we are navigating through our world all by ourselves.

How do we know we are not alone? How do we know that Jesus kept His promise to not leave us orphans?

Oh, many of us have our stories. We have our “God stories” when we experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Those moments where we know God is with us, no doubt at all.

And faith tells us that God is with us even when we do not “experience” it that way.

And Jesus tells us, in scripture and in our daily lives, through other people, through our experiences, our readings. He tells us He will come to us.

I cannot wait for that day. That day when we see Him, face to face.

Can you?

Jesus, help us to grow in faith and to know we are not alone, we are not orphans, for You are with us. Always. – Amen
