3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
He said to them, “Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing.” – Luke 4:21
Jesus tells the people in the synagogue the Good News. The prophesy of Isaiah has been fulfilled. He is the One who is to come. And He proclaims liberty to captives and sight to the blind.
Jesus continues to tell us the same good news. Whenever we read scripture, whenever we go to Mass and hear the Word proclaimed, Jesus speaks to us.
The Word of God is among us. And he is here to bring release to the captives and sight to the blind.
Do we hear Him? Do we spread the Good News to others who do not hear?
Today this scripture passage is fulfilled in our hearing.
Today.
Dear Lord, help me to hear your voice. Help me to read the bible every day and know that you are speaking to me. Please heal my blindness and set me free from what holds me prisoner. And work through me to do the same for others. Help me to spread the good news, Lord. Today. Amen.
