The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Rev 14:1-3, 4b-5; Lk 21:1-4

“for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.” – Lk 21:4

The poor widow gave all she had. How generous am I?

Lord, you have given me many blessings. There are times when I withhold using those blessings to assist the poor and support your church. Help me to have a generous heart and to never forget that if you had not blessed me I would have nothing.

St. Cecilia, virgin & martyr

Revelation 14:14-19; Luke 21:5-11

He answered, “See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’ Do not follow them. – Lk 21:8

Jesus reminds us to be on the guard for false prophets. What signs in my life show that Jesus is truly present?

Lord, help me to better reflect your presence in my life. Show me where I am weak in show your presence and grant me the strength to improve that weakness. Always allow my life to show your presence within it.

Revelation 15:1-4; Luke 21:12-19

You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed. – Lk 21:17-18

Jesus warns that following him may bring difficulties into our lives. Does my life truly reflect that I am a follower of Jesus? Am I willing to experience hardships due to my beliefs?

Lord, it is my fondest hope that my life does reflect my love of you. Help me to always live a life that shows your presence. Grant me the strength to endure any and all hardships that may come because of my belief in you.

Thanksgiving Day

Sir 50:23-24; 1 Cor 1:3-9; Luke 17:11-19

“Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” – Lk 17:18

Only one of the lepers shows his gratitude to Jesus. Do I always show Jesus that I am grateful for his many blessings?

Lord, you have given me so much. I hope that I have always been grateful for your blessings. Help me to never take your gifts for granted, but to always show an attitude of gratitude.

Revelation 20:1-4, 11-21:2; Luke 21:29-33

When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near. – Lk 21:30

Jesus uses nature to reveal God’s presence in this world. How do I see God as present in nature?

Lord, give me a greater appreciation of your creation. Allow me to see you present in all my surroundings. Grant me the insight to understand your presence and to see you in all things.
