Prepare for Jesus

“You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.” – Lk 12:40

How does one prepare for the coming of Jesus into our everyday lives?

We are not always aware of Jesus’ presence. We try to be, but there are a lot of distractions in our lives. We are busy with work and family. There are health issues and other stressors. There are many things to worry about.

It helps to turn to Jesus with these worries but we often just try to muddle through it all. On our own.

We forget to pray.

If we do not pray, we will not be prepared for Jesus. We will not be aware of His presence in our everyday lives. We will miss seeing Him. Over and over again.

Dear Lord, help me to stop the busy running around and sit with you. Help me to prepare for your coming into my heart, into my world. I am sorry for the times I get too busy to notice you. Help me stay on a straight path to you. Amen.
