“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
Oh, these words are so comforting right now.
We are all laboring in one way or another. We are all burdened as well. We need rest and nothing in the secular world seems to help.
Resting in Jesus is the answer.
I have missed going to Mass for all these weeks. Virtual ones are tough to sit through. I have struggled with prayer and felt myself distancing myself from God as well as people!
So I started to pray an Act of Spiritual Communion every day. And then I prayed a personal prayer followed by silence. I am doing more spiritual reading as well.
And lo and behold! I find myself more at peace. More rested. Closer to God.
Go figure.
Lord, thank you for touching my heart with Your words and helping me to rest in You. Amen.
