Follow Me

As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customs post. He said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him. – Mk 2:14

Follow me.

Do you remember when you first heard those words from Jesus? Perhaps you heard them through a friend or family member, encouraging you to go to church or inviting you to a prayer meeting.

Follow me.

Maybe you were attending Mass and you heard these words and tears came to your eyes or your heart started to pound. And you just knew those words were spoken directly to you.

Perhaps you were being called to daily Mass. Or reading scripture.

Or perhaps it was an answer to a question about ministry.

Follow me.

How do you answer when you hear these words? Do you say Yes? And how do you say Yes? In words? In action?

Follow me.

Jesus, thank you for your love. Thank you for calling me and never giving up on me. Amen.
