Courage and Truth

August 3, 2019

His disciples came and took away the corpse and buried him; and they went and told Jesus. (Mt 14:12)

Ever faithful to his call, John the Baptist never hesitated in speaking the truth. He condemned Herod’s sin and lost his life.

Do we exhibit the same kind of courage in speaking out against what is wrong? Do we go to Jesus and ask for help in speaking the truth, even when the truth is unpopular or controversial?

Dear Jesus, please give me the courage to speak the truth even when it is unpopular. Amen.
